Mysore is the most traditional way to practice Ashtanga and also the most personal. The class runs in silence. You arrive, roll out your mat and start your own practice at your own pace, while the teacher moves through the room working with each person. Everyone practices together and everyone goes their own way.
¿Por qué se llama así?Why the name?
After the city of Mysore, in southern India, where K. Pattabhi Jois taught Ashtanga for decades with this method. This is how the practice was always passed on: person by person, posture by posture, according to what that body needed that day.
Cómo funciona la claseHow the class works
You learn the sequence bit by bit and practice it from memory, until you no longer need anyone telling you what comes next. The teacher comes over to adjust a posture, help you into another, or give you the next one when you are ready. If you have energy that day, you go further in your series. If you come in tired, you do less and the practice counts just the same.
Cómo se sienteHow it feels
The room is silent and the only sound is other people breathing. No music and no count. That shared stillness makes the practice deeply meditative. It is physically demanding, but what shifts most is your relationship with yourself: you learn to hold yourself without anyone leading you by the hand.

No vienes a seguir a nadie, vienes a conocerte. Mysore trusts that you can own your practice. You do not come to follow anyone, you come to get to know yourself. Learning to hold yourself up, with support but without being carried, is a lesson that stays long after you roll up the mat.
¿Para quién es?Who is it for?
For anyone ready to commit to a practice of their own. If you have never done Ashtanga, the teacher teaches you the sequence from zero. If you know it already, here you go deeper without rushing. All it asks is that you come back often.
