Pranayama is breathing on purpose. You do it all day without thinking; here you learn techniques to calm down, focus or wake up, depending on what you need. It is the most portable tool in yoga: once you have it, you use it in a tense meeting, on a sleepless night, or in traffic.
¿Qué es el Pranayama? What is Pranayama?
The word joins two Sanskrit ideas: prana, the vital energy that comes in with each inhale, and ayama, to extend or direct. In practice they are concrete exercises: lengthening the exhale, breathing through one nostril, holding the air for a few seconds. They change how you feel directly, because the breath is wired into the nervous system.
La respiración cambia tu estadoThe breath changes your state
It is the only process in the body that runs by itself and that you can also steer. That is where its power sits. When you lengthen the exhale you send your nervous system the signal to calm down: your pulse drops and you loosen. When you breathe fast and deep, you light up. Learning this is learning to adjust your own state.
Cómo es la claseWhat the class is like
Te sientas cómodo y vamos paso a paso. You sit comfortably and we go step by step. We start by looking at your breath as it is, and build from there: simple techniques first, deeper ones later, without forcing. There is no discomfort to endure and no record to break. Each exercise comes with its purpose, so you know when to use it outside.

In yoga the breath is the bridge between body and mind. That is why Pranayama holds everything else up, even though from the outside it looks like nothing is happening.
